Meta-modelling approaches for expensive models Meta-modelling approaches for expensive models Dr Minisci Edmondo, in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, director of the Intelligent Computational Engineering Laboratory (ICELab, www.icelab.uk) is using ARCHIE-WeSt to investigate how non-intrusive approaches for probabilistic propagation of uncertainties can be used to properly perform numerical aeroacoustics analysis and compare the numerical results with the experimental data. The project is conducted in cooperation with OPTIMAD Engineering (www.optimad.it) and with the support of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. The project aims at demonstrating how the appropriate handling of involved uncertainties can bring to a better understanding of experimental and numerical modelling and testing, and, consequently, more efficient acoustic design processes. For more information about the project contact Dr Edmondo Minisci (edmondo.minisci@strath.ac.uk), Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, or Dr Angela Scardigli (angela.scardigli@optimad.it) and Dr Federico Gallizio (federico.gallizio@optimad.it).
