Potential output of the project:

This project aims to simulate the dynamic response of a floating wind platform under variety wind and wave load conditions by using the open source package: Openfast.
The obtained results will be used to train an artificial intelligent (Auto-Regressive) model, which is capable to predict the response of the floating wind platform based only on wave and wind conditions. Such an AI model will significantly reduce the simulation complexity and effort. The trained model can be further coupled to more complex simulations like CFD simulation, which will dramatically reduce the computation demand. Moreover, such a simplified model would enable wave tanks without wind-tunnel to accurately simulate wind load with the aid an electrical ducted fan whose rotation speed is controlled by the developed model.
