Potential output of the project:

CFD modelling based on KIVA 3V2 code of the dual fuel engine combustion process will be performed.
Various fractions and properties of gas and diesel fuels will be tested.
The fuel change phases will be examined and the engine behaviour will be analysed.
The engine performance and emission parameters will be analysed for developing appropriate phenomenological combustion models.
An optimization procedure will be followed in order to estimate the optimal injection timing and the injection profile depending on the used fuels (diesel – gas) properties and the targeted engine performance/emissions parameters.
