Potential output of the project: |
The project will enable a large number of existing projects to deliver in a timely fashion. The Helicopter Multi-Block 3 CFD solver is the UK flagship rotorcraft code and is used by academia and industry. This project will port the code to ARCHIE and will focus on the following studies: 1) Optimisation of aerodynamic shapes using the adjoint method 2) Simulation of turbulent flows in cavities 3) Simulation of rotor aero-acoustics 4) Simulation of tilt-rotor aircraft 5) Simulation of large-scale Wind turbines. All these will feed into future funding applications. |
