ARCHIE-WeSt – NVidia AI Day Wednesday 31st January 2024, 1pm-5pm Room TL325b, Level 3, Learning and Teaching Building, University of Strathclyde. ARCHIE-WeSt will be hosting an “AI Day” with NVidia on Wednesday January 31st 1pm-5pm, to support AI enabled research across the University and to foster collaboration. The session will include numerous examples of what can be achieved using the many tools, frameworks and hardware available to researchers. The event will also highlight the GPU accelerated NVidia frameworks available for a broad range of applications in deep learning, data science and deployment of AI-based applications along with the facilities available at ARCHIE-WeSt. Registration Register here Programme The agenda is currently as below, however, it may evolve depending on audience requirements: 13:00 Coffee & WelcomeDr Paul Mulheran, ARCHIE-WeSt13:30NVIDIA accelerated computing for science and AI: beyond Moore’s Law, performance & energy efficiency at all scales:Background and basicsInfrastructure for AITrendsPaul Graham, NVidia14:00Making AI accessible for researchers and student communities in higher education GPUs Features for Deep learning and how to exploit themDomain specific SDKs and Frameworks to accelerate AI researchDenis Battistella, NVidia14:30Digital twins – NVIDIA Omniverse for virtual worlds to simulate the largest challenges in science and engineering Why Digital twins are so powerful in Science domainsNVIDIA Modulus to develop digital twin applications across physics domainsUse Cases across industry and possible applications Paul Graham, NVidia15:00Coffee15:30Generative AI – the “iPhone moment of AI”: implications and opportunities for science How LLMs can be used for scienceNVIDIA tools:NeMo Framework to build, customize, and deploy generative AI modelsBioNeMo LLM for Drug Discovery and Protein EngineeringPaul Graham, NVidia16:00Tools for Quantum Computing Research cuQuantum to accelerate quantum computing researchCUDA Quantum for hybrid quantum-classical computingDenis Battistella, NVidia16:30Closing discussion & coffee Registration Forename * Surname * Email * Department * Staff Status * Academic StaffResearch StaffPostgraduate StudentOther Other If you are human, leave this field blank.
