The renewed ARCHIE-WeSt Supercomputer will be launched on November 21st, 2018 at the University of Strathclyde.

A new 64-node INTEL Skylake based system with the INTEL Omnipath interconnect and GPFS filesystem was installed during summer 2018 and will provide the ARCHIE-WeSt consortium with state-of-the-art computing facilities for the next five years.

While physically smaller than the previous machine, it nonetheless with deliver 30% more computing capacity over all, with much reduced running costs. However, we expect to expand the facility over the next few years by increasing the number of compute nodes, and adding a GPU facility for data science and AI applications.

This event is being hosted in conjunction with OCF and Lenovo, the installers and suppliers of the machine.
